YELP http://www.yelp.com/biz/moveable-feast-menlo-park I can't say enough good things about chef Jacquie Steiner or her business, Moveable Feast! Jacquie's absolutely exquisite food recently came to our rescue in a big way. My husband and I ended up on projects that were keeping us both so busy we could barely get to the store, much less cook. (NOT ideal!) We longed for the comfort of delicious, nourishing home-cooked meals, and were getting tired of store-bought substitutes and take-out from restaurants.
Then Moveable Feast's Jacquie entered our lives. She is an incredibly kind, truly caring woman who really listened to what we requested, asked questions, made suggestions, and worked with us to put together a menu we could only dream about. OH and did it ever pay off. I seriously attribute her fantastic meals to helping us each survive our projects in one piece. She delivered several hugely delicious items and meals, and they far far far exceeded our expectations. The flavors and textures and combinations still make me hungry when I think about them. One of my favorites was this Moroccan chicken, which we had with a side of amazing soup we pulled out for the occasion. I think it was Indian. OMG I've never had such delicious soup in my life.
The food was the BEST but what's just as terrific is Jacquie. She is the real deal - a phenomenal chef, a super good person, and empathetic as they come. It may sound weird, but you can almost feel and taste the love she puts in her food. I told her that it was the kind of feeling I would have gotten from my mom making us some meals in our overwhelmingly busy situation if she were still alive and if she was a really good chef. We felt nurtured from the inside out and the outside in.
